Just because you've never done something, doesn't mean you can't do it.
I am inspired by those who are their authentic selves at work, those who have a strong sense of a team community, and those who champion other’s achievements. It is very inspiring to me when people see the positive in every situation, take accountability for their own behaviours and take time to self-reflect.
In my role, I enjoy being able to play a part in helping others grow professionally and personally. Seeing colleagues’ growth in confidence and achieving their potential is a very rewarding and fulfilling experience for me. I am very much driven by a strong desire to help and support others. I am also a very big advocate of reward and recognition and giving credit where it is due. I believe saying thank you and showing appreciation is something that costs nothing but can have a huge and often unseen impact on people.
I aim to motivate others by providing feedback, but always in a very respectful and meaningful way that puts the colleague first. I like to share my experiences with others and encourage colleagues to take risks and try new things. “Just because you’ve never done something, doesn’t mean you can’t do it” is a motto I live by, and I encourage others to think the same. In my roles as a coach and a wellbeing champion, I am a big promoter of not being afraid to show vulnerability and that it should be seen as a strength and not perceived as a weakness.
